World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to raise the item level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This increases the effectiveness of the equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.

These upgrades are able to increase the overall power of a group or individual unit, and can significantly impact the gameplay.
The items can be upgraded at any NPC that is an upgrader in the game. These NPCs can be found in the major questing areas or capital cities. You can also find upgraders of items by visiting dungeons that have high-level bosses and talking to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players increase the level of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is very similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however, instead of using the currency appropriate to the task players need to visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.

(Dice 6 is dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 from Bosses). Additionally, you will require different amounts of Minerals and Erons.
Time is a major factor.
Upgrades to items can be a great way to boost your gear and ship stats without needing to level them up. Upgrades aren't cheap but they can be an effective way to increase your stats and not have to spend so much time fighting. It's important to know the costs and benefits before investing your time or money.
Each upgrade increases an item's base stat by a specific amount, and also gives a chance for a bonus substat increase.
